Srinagar, Sept 14 (TKM): India delivered a commanding all-round performance to defeat Pakistan in their Asia Cup 2025 clash, chasing down the target with ease to continue their strong run in the tournament.

Batting first, Pakistan struggled against India’s disciplined bowling. Jasprit Bumrah struck in the very first over, while Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, and Kuldeep Yadav ensured regular breakthroughs. Kuldeep starred with 3 for 18, Axar picked two, and Bumrah finished with 2 for 28. Despite a late flourish from Shaheen Afridi (33* off 16), Pakistan were restricted to a modest total.

In reply, India’s chase was led by captain Suryakumar Yadav, who anchored the innings with an unbeaten 47 off 37 balls. Abhishek Sharma set the tone at the top with a fiery 31 from just 13 deliveries, while Tilak Varma added a steady 31. Shivam Dube’s quickfire 10 not out sealed the chase comfortably.

Pakistan’s only real success came through part-time bowler Saim Ayub, who picked 3 wickets, but India’s batting depth proved too strong. India reached the target in under 16 overs, winning by seven wickets with plenty of time and wickets in hand.

With this dominant win, India have sent out a strong message in the Asia Cup, showcasing both bowling firepower and batting depth.
